Our Approach to Groundwater Protection

 In Uncategorized

At Logel’s, we take the environment seriously. We know there are a lot of concerns about the impact of fuels and oils that are in cars, which is why we do everything we can to protect our land. One way we do this is by having groundwater protection systems in place.

When we start to disassemble a car, we make sure all the work we do is inside in a clean and contained area. By keeping all of our work indoors, we are eliminating the risk that any fuels or oils will seep into the ground and contaminate our groundwater. It’s important to have a contained workplace when working with anything that can be potentially harmful if it’s not managed properly.

So even if it’s inside, how do we keep it from getting in the water? The fluids still need to be managed somehow. Depending on the fluid, it may be collected and sent to a separate facility to be safely disposed of, or it may be reused. When we are cleaning the fluids off of the car parts, we filter the water that was used for cleaning. The filtering separates the fluids from the car from the water. This process avoids leaks and makes sure fluids from the car don’t go down the drain.

We realize how important it is to have safe and clean water, which is why we do everything we can to protect groundwater.
